Description: Girls on the Run Coach - 4 positions available throughout district
Days and Hours: Days and hours as needed, currently 2 days per week,
90 minutes per session
Location: 2 positions at AES and 2 positions at AIS
Salary: $25. per hour for certified staff, current rate of pay for classified staff
March 10th - May 10th
Position Purpose:
To assist the professional staff with students in Girls on the Run. To enhance girls’ social, psychological, and physical skills and behaviors to successfully navigate life experiences. This individual should believe in our vision/mission and core values.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required- college training preferred
- Must meet certification requirements of the State Department of Education.
- Demonstrate aptitude for the work performed
- Certification of good health signed by a licensed physician
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the BOE may find appropriate and acceptable.
- Prior experience working with children.
- Coaching experience is preferred, but not necessary.

Performance Responsibilities
- Work with the co-coach to lead girls through the curriculum as intended
- Present and prepared for each coaching session
- Participate in the Girls on the Run celebratory 5K event
- Communicate with families
- Provide constant supervision during the coaching sessions
- Maintain records of progress/goal setting
- Maintain high ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information
- Assists students in non-instructional areas such as supervising snacks, bus duty, etc.
- Maintains current inventory of supplies, equipment, and instructional materials. Implement behavior management strategies to minimize disruptions and ensure a safe learning environment
- Follow the prepared lesson plans
- Performs any additional duties which may be assigned by the principal, Superintendent or his designee.
