Position:       Instructional Coach at Alliance Middle School

 

Category:     Certificated

 

Currently:     Regular/Full time ~ 185 days per year

                     This position does qualify for Health Benefits

 

Reports to:   Building Principal/Director of Curriculum

 

Description:   To teach according to the provided courses of study.

 

Qualifications:

  • Valid Ohio professional teaching license/certificate with the grade level and core content of the building
  • Past 2 years of summative evaluations that are rated as skilled or accomplished
  • Coaching and/or teacher leadership experience preferred
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently with staff
  • Knowledge of standards, strategies and interventions for outstanding student instruction
  • Knowledge of theories, techniques and instruments used for assessment
  • Positive interpersonal relationships with students, educational staff, parents, and the community
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Technology skills including use of work processing, test analysis software, database, and spreadsheet applications
  • Ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities, projects and tasks
  • Ability to seek resources and solutions to effectively solve problems

 

Basic Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Support classroom teachers and staff in implementing district strategic plan initiatives and curriculum to enable achievement for all students
  • Support teaching and learning according to district and building goals
  • Conduct classroom non-evaluative coaching observations and provide feedback
  • Teach model lessons
  • Plan and deliver professional development for large groups, teams and individuals including instructional coaching
  • Serve on the district and building leadership teams as requested
  • Assist in the collection, analysis and instructional response to data
  • Develop expertise in district/building initiatives and curriculum
  • Demonstrate proficiency with all relevant district software
  • Encourage and support the implementation of technology and innovative strategies in the classroom
  • Track and document the implementation progress of each teacher and success of students
  • Provide support for continual improvement of curriculum implementation, monitoring of student progress and planning interventions for individual students
  • Create and monitor the pacing/mapping with lessons to ensure teachers are making the best instructional decisions
  • Manage instructional materials and supplies
  • Attend in-services, training programs and/or meetings as required by Board Policy or the Superintendent or designee

 

Additional Duties

 

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal, Superintendent and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
